Following last year’s thrilling launch, the Chelsea Arts Festival, London’s exciting annual arts and culture celebration, returns this September for four days of inspirational events.

	Sat, 19 Sep 2026 at 2:30pm Gavin Turk traces the story of rubbish in art, from the point industrial society first produced 'waste' as a category, through Duchamp's ready-mades and the moment artists began building with, rather than merely depicting discarded material. Along the way: Schwitters scavenging the street for his Merz collages, Arman's Le Plein (Full Up), Manzoni selling his own waste as gold and the now famous stories of artworks mistaken for rubbish and swept away entirely. Exhibition curator Professor Michael Lewis joins broadcaster Hannah MacInnes and guests to unravel the tapestry's hidden stories, exploring the world of Anglo-Saxon England, the Norman Conquest and the making of one of history's greatest works of visual storytelling. All barcoded vouchers are issued as single tickets. If you order more than one ticket, every ticket must be printed or shown on your phone for entry.

No minimum or maximum duration — stay as long as you like. You can cancel anytime. Membership may be revoked if our code of conduct isn’t followed.

Please cancel as soon as possible so others can use the tickets. Failure to cancel or no-shows may result in suspension.
